About Mulberry Garden Widcombe After School Club
The Mulberry Garden After School Club is located at the Widcombe Infant School. The club caters for children of Reception Class age through to Year 6 and complies with the statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Registration
Parents must complete a registration form in order for their child to attend our After School Club. Our registration form includes emergency contact details, medical and allergy details and data consent agreement. All forms are signed by parents and form a contract between Mulberry Garden and parents.

Session Costs & Payments
After School Club costs £14.50 per session.
Our fees are payable a month in advance and invoices are sent out in the third week of the preceding month. Any changes or cancellations to sessions require a minimum of four weeks' written notice. We do not offer a reduced cost for children who attend other clubs and join After School Club sessions later.
Session Times & Location of the After School Club
Our After School Club is open Monday-Friday from 15:15 - 17:30 during term time. We are closed when Widcombe Infant School has an INSET day.
Mulberry Garden staff collect the children from their classrooms at 15:15, either from the Infant School or the Junior School. Any children taking part in extra curricular clubs and activities will be collected by Mulberry Garden staff from the Infant or Junior School when their activity has finished. Please note, we do not allow children to walk unsupervised from the Junior to the Infant School whilst they are under our care.
We provide a range of indoor and outdoor play activities to engage and stimulate the children. Children mostly participate in child-led freeplay activities. We offer themed activities and a number of resources such as arts and crafts, modelling clay, lego, figure play and water play.
Food & Snacks
Children are welcomed with a small snack such as a cracker and biscuit, followed by a healthy tea from 16:00. This will typically be a wrap with a choice of cheese, marmite or ham, plus fruit.
Collecting your child
Parents wait for their child outside the Infant School office area. Parents must not enter the school playground, even if the gate is open, for safeguarding purposes. Mulberry Garden staff will bring children to the agreed waiting area, outside the school office.
The latest time for collecting children is 17:30.
We do of course understand that occasionally parents are unexpectedly delayed and would expect parents to phone us on 07789 860070 if this were to happen. Late pickups are charged a late pickup fee of £7.00 per additional five minutes.
Booking Sessions
Parents must book a regular weekly pattern of sessions for After School Club, we do not accept a change of sessions each week. Parents who ask for 'extra' sessions must already have their child attending on a regular weekly basis, with a weekly pattern of sessions. We only offer ad hoc sessions to children who do not attend weekly sessions in very exceptional circumstances, at a fee of £20.00. This also applies to siblings of attending children.
Ending Enrolment in the After School Club
Parents must inform us in writing to infomulberrygarden@gmail.com, with four weeks notice if they no longer wish their child to attend. All children are booked into our childcare management system until we are advised of any change.
Absences
All sessions fees apply, regardless of absences, whether they are planned or unplanned, e.g. illness. We are not able to offer replacement sessions for dates your child was unable or not required to attend.
